1. Munnar

Munnar, often called the Emerald Crown of Kerala, is a hill station where the mountains wear blankets of green and the air smells of fresh tea leaves. Munnar is famous for its vast tea plantations, lush green landscapes, waterfalls.Its one of the few places where the Neelakurinji, a rare plant that flowers only once in twelve years, blooms. 2. Varkala Beach

Varkala beach is the only beach in southern India where cliffs are found around the arabian sea. It has a remarkable stretch of red laterite cliffs. This cliffs has been declared as national geological monuments and these formations are called varkala formation. It offers many adventurous sports such as parasailing, paragliding, surfing and stand up paddle boarding. It is a famous tourist spot with many restaurants,cafe.

5. Athirapally Waterfalls

The largest waterfall in Kerala, the Athirappilly Falls is also widely renowned as the “Niagara of India”. 6. Banasurasagar Dam

Banasura sagar dam is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders.Situated about 15 km from Kalpetta, the dam holds a large expanse of water and its picturesque beauty is enhanced by the chain of mountains seen on the backdrop. It is constructed in the Banasura Lake and the nearby mountains are known as Banasura Hills. Legends say that the Asura king of Banasura, (the son of King Mahabali, who is believed to visit Kerala during every Onam festival) undertook a severe penance on the top of these hills and thus it was named after him.
7. Jatayu Earth Centre

The Jatayu Earth’s Center hosts the world’s largest bird sculpture. Kochi’s Chineese Fishing Nets

The huge cantilevered Chinese fishing nets that that droop towards the waters like over-sized hammocks have become a hallmark that represents Fort Kochi on the tourist map. Once just a fishing accessory, it is a now a big bait for tourists.Chinese fishing nets – Cheenavala in Malayalam – is believed to have been introduced in Kochi by Chinese explorer Zheng He, from the court of the Kubla Khan. The fishing net established itself on the Kochi shores between 1350 and 1450 AD.The sight of the Chinese nets, suspended in mid air and standing in line on the beaches, when silhouetted against the sunset is breathtakingly beautiful.
